The concept of Convergence is to tie the entire campus together with a similar design language, using Kevin Lynch's theory of Urbanism to study the campus and its distinctive features. After analyzing each quad separately, a point was then focused on, all of the quads were linked through unifying installations. Connecting all of these installations is a pathway system following the sidewalks, that displays the University of Illinois’ greatest achievements over its rich 150-year history on either side.
